Majoring in Environmental Systems has helped me tremendously in beginning my career.  The interdisciplinary nature of the program has opened many doors I do not think I would have had if I majored in biology.  Having taken many biology courses in addition to other courses such as environmental engineering and rulemaking, I have had more clout during job interviews.  Before working in the field I am in now I worked as a water toxicity lab technician for the county, and I am now working for the government performing crucial air pollution work.  Having the Environmental Systems degree has allowed me to explore many opportunities in the environmental sector.  If you are looking for an open door after graduation, this is the route to go.
